Vacationing with your Family in Puerto Vallarta?
Marriott Puerto Vallarta Resort & Spa is the Place to Stay.

Located on the coast of the Pacific Ocean in Jalisco, Mexico, above the bay known as Bahia de las Banderas, Puerto Vallarta is a two-and-a-half-hour flight from Dallas,TX, three hours from LA and four from Chicago and New York. The weather is almost perfect year-round and even though tourism registered Puerto Vallarta as the second most visited place in Mexico, Puerto Vallarta, without a doubt continues to be one of the most traditional places in Mexico.
Known as Puerto Las Peñas from 1815 to 1918, Puerto Vallarta was discovered by Pedro de Alvarado in 1541 and forgotten for more than 300 years. It was then recognized as municipality and its name was changed to Puerto Vallarta in honor of a government representative at the time. Remaining a fishing port—attracting some tourists— it wasn’t until 1964 when, thanks to Hollywood, that Puerto Vallarta was known to the world. With the filming of La Noche de la Iguana with John Houston, Elizabeth Taylor and Richard Burton, the beautiful beaches, bucolic setting and romanticism, the town setting was paradise for paparazzis. Especially to those who didn’t stop being enamored by its beauty along with the romance of the two most popular movie stars at the time.
It was through the Hollywood movie screen that this beautiful place was presented to the world as a great international site. Through time, Puerto Vallarta kept beautifying and it is now recognized worldwide as one of the best places to visit or go on vacation.
Puerto Vallarta has a lot to offer. Its excellent restaurants will satisfy everyone’s palate. Fresh seafood is a must and it is offered in every menu. Kayaking, cycling, and touring around in water or land is at every corner. But if you are like me, who likes to go on vacation to relax without having to go from one place to another and be more tired than before, then Marriott Puerto Vallarta Resort & Spa is the perfect choice for you and your family. Not only does it have beautiful views and great location next to the ocean, they have great restaurants, great service and excellent amenities including a spa and a gym.
If you travel with family like I do, the resort has options for everyone. My children are now adults, but I am still surrounded by little ones. A lot of nephews that I enjoy very much while I await for my very own grandchildren.
I love going on vacation with my family, especially when we all gather – brothers, cousins, in-laws, nieces and nephews. And yes, it is true that group vacations are prone to drama, — we are experts on dealing with those issues very quickly because we want to have a great time. And when you are in a place like Marriott Puerto Vallarta Resort & Spa there is no time for drama.
Marriott Puerto Vallarta Resort & Spa has one of the best gyms I’ve ever seen. The spa is very inviting. Relaxing by the beach with a piña colada and bocadillos is the way to have an amazing vacation.
As for the kids, they were in paradise. The aquatic section attracted them the most. It is great for kids and it has a lot of games and waterfalls. Certainly, entertaining for them day and night.
The staff was very friendly and very accommodating. The food was the best. The buffet style breakfast and dinner was plentiful, perhaps it would have taken all week to try out the various dishes.
It was absolutely relaxing and Marriott Puerto Vallarta Resort & Spa in Puerto Vallarta knows the concept.
With such history, I recommend spending time in special places of Puerto Vallarta such as La Casa Kimberly, home of Elizabeth Taylor and Richard Burton. It is said that Elizabeth Taylor spent more time there than in the U.S. and she would only leave just to film her movies.
La Casa Kimberly is a very exclusive hotel and restaurant. You can only visit with reservations. The food is delicious and the scenery is worth a million. The view is proof of Puerto Vallarta’s beautiful paradise.
