A true celebration of Latina empowerment! Since 2004 the Symposium has evolved to become one of the most anticipated events for Latinas nationwide, and we are pleased that you have joined us today in celebration and recognition of the accomplishments of Latinas of all sectors. Over the last ten years, we have been inspired and motivated by the incredible accomplishments of the Latinas who came to share their stories of determination and success. We are delighted to come together once again with you, our Latina sisters, to share in this wonderful occasion. Your impact is being felt in every corner of our country; whether it is in politics or business, corporate America or at home, Latinas are doing it all, and doing it extremely well. We are honored to provide a stage to highlight your accomplishments.
Furthermore, we are proud to have established a new precedent by honoring Latinas in the Armed Forces at our Distinguished Military Service Awards Luncheon. During the Symposium’s inaugural year, for the first time in history, we brought together all four military academies to honor Latina cadets from the Class of 2004. This year, we are proud to continue this tradition by honoring outstanding Latinas, women and men from the many branches of the Armed Forces – active and civilian military service, and from the 4th estate agency.
As you spend the day with us we invite you to attend the different workshops and events. Remember: there are no coincidences in life; every one of us is here for a very special reason. Let’s make it count! And to all our women and men serving our country, especially those serving in distant and dangerous lands, our thoughts, our payers and our thanks are with you. We await your safe return. May God protect you all.
Who we are, What we do
LATINA Style Inc. broke new ground in 1994 when Anna Maria Arias launched the first national magazine dedicated to the needs and concerns of the Latina professional workingwoman and the Latina business owner in the United States. Since then, LATINA Style has become the most influential publication reaching the contemporary Hispanic woman.
With a national circulation of 150,000 and a readership of over 600,000, LATINA Style is unique in its ability to reach the seasoned Latina professional, the Latina civic and political leader, and the young Latina entering the workforce for the first time. The culturally sensitive editorial environment of the magazine showcases Latinas’ achievements in all areas of endeavor, including business, corporate America, science, education, civic and political affairs, to name a few. In addition to the critical information the magazine provides to its readers, LATINA Style Inc. hosts three of the most respected programs in the nation: the LATINA Style 50 Awards and Diversity Leaders Conference, the LATINA Style Business Series, and the National LATINA Symposium, and the LATINA Style Hero Initiative. All programs are designed to highlight and profile Latina achievement and build a bridge with the general market. LATINA Style is also proud to produce the Anna Maria Arias Foundation, the premier program in the nation recognizing Latina excellence in entrepreneurship.
Behind the National Latina Symposium:
Latinas are an economically and socially powerful sector of the United States population. Today there are over seven million Hispanic women in the workforce and Latinas represent over 600,000 businesses, making them the fastest growing segment of the small business community. Latinas are primarily responsible for nearly all major household purchases. Their unique lifestyle, concerns, and needs clearly differentiate them from the general population. In addition, we can’t forget that Latinas are continually excelling in non-traditional roles and industries. Since the inception of the National LATINA Symposium in 2004, Latinas from coast to coast have convened for a forum to address the most pressing issues affecting their daily lives. The highlight of the National LATINA Symposium is the Distinguished Military Service Awards Luncheon honoring Latinas serving in the Armed Forces. In 2013, we proudly invite you to join us as we recognize key Latina leaders for their leadership, accomplishments, and commitment in building a strong community. Thank you for joining us in celebrating Latina empowerment! |
