An email newsletter or e-newsletter is an extension of your social media. You may not think so, but it is. Today several businesses and brands are using e-newsletters for the provided benefits:

  • Generates business leads
  • Builds trust with clients
  • Keeps you in constant contact with customers
  • Grows the credibility of the business and/or brand

Think of your e-newsletter like a small newspaper. Whether you read a newspaper online or pick up the printed edition, it always has the latest and most important information. E-newsletters do the same. It should contain the latest important information about your company, products or services, employees and even future projects.

Not only does it keep your clients informed, but in many cases an e-newsletter can generate business leads.

When you run a business, you’re an expert. An e-newsletter continues to build your credibility as an expert in your field. This not only reminds your readers that you know your business well, but also reminds them to recommend you to someone who may need your advice and services.

This is a perfect way to get the news media interested too. The press is always looking for an expert to interview.

E-Newsletters are inexpensive. There is no cost for printing and mailing. There may be an expense in using an email marketing software service to get your newsletter launched and to a wider audience.

There are several email marketing services like MailChimp and Constant Contact, to name a few. Which service you decide to use will depend on how much you want to spend on your email newsletter. Do your research to find out which service can give you the best options for your budget.

Once again, do your research to find the best email marketing service for your business. Ask business associates and even customers what service they use. Recommendations are always a good way to go. Prices and services will vary, but most of the credible email marketing services provide several options:

  • Free trial
  • Unlimited Emails
  • Image Library
  • Templates
  • Tracking
  • Customer Support
  • Google Analytics
  • Social Media Marketing
  • Some offer Free Plans
  • Annual Plans

Your email newsletter can be sent out once a week or monthly. It is up to you how many times you want to publish one. What will work for your business and what is the end goal?

Some businesses compile several of their tweets and Facebook posts that are not dated and recycle them in a newsletter and provide links. But the best e-newsletters have fresh, new, creative and interesting information.

Electronic newsletters are easy to share. You can share them on your company website and social media platforms with a link. It makes it easy for your friends and followers to share with their circle of friends and followers and hopefully more will subscribe to your e-newsletter.

Just like your social media platforms, you can see who and how many are reading your e-newsletters by checking the metrics. You can also see who is clicking into which articles and links in your newsletter. This is a great way to figure out what your readers are interested in for the next e-newsletter.
